It is a great site too. Don't know how Paulson got himself in trouble but I hope the rascal can return at some point.

Russ, you might keep a forward to his site up a little longer too, TACube is listed very nice right on top of the Mini-Team list if you need a reason.🙂
 
I belive the 3 strikes your out rule is in effect on this one, but I am sorta glad...he needs the rest of he teenage years to hang...
 
Apparently he discovered how to defeat the swear filter(precocious lad 🙂) and then proceeded to share his knowledge :Q. Perhaps he'll be paroled after a while.
 
we all (or most of us with some ingenuity) know how to defeat it, he just shared this knowledge, and the mods were already in a bad mood.
 
I belive that the issue was not that he knew how to defete it BUT he shared it, it is there for a reason. what he did under most system admins eyes are defeting a security system AND shareing the information on how to do it. I would have banned him off of my systems aswell. and he would remain banned for the duration of that service being available so I belive that the ban is justified.
 
Yeah, that's why he was banned - I could share information that could allow him to annonymously log-in to anandtech under a different name (the mods wouldn't be able to track the IP), but I'm not that silly.
 
Paulson was given more chances to straighten up then anyone in the history of this forum. He deserves no sympathy.

I agree Russ...also on the note oflogging on when you have been banned from the boards, I belive that anadtech would take the stand that that is hacking and fallow through with charges to that effect. (note: I am taking in extreme cases)
 
Well maybe your right that it will give him a break to do something else. Hope it isn't something to encourage him to do worse!:Q

Pitty though, he did do a lot to contribute in spite of any maturity gap! I saw many a member learn him on better conduct too which he was picking up on slow but sure. I guess when your a kid you push the envelope and sometimes that gets it taken away.🙁
