Hi guys,

I have been working on a game called Center Space for the past year - its a turn based strategy game involving giant mechs. The player commands a team of mechs, which they will be able to customize. Each Mech can mount an array of different weaponry.

There are three different factions which the user can choose to use. There is Hauser Industrial, which is a traditional corporate faction that focuses on long range weaponry, Pax Syndicate, a decentralized organisation that focuses on short range weaponry, and the Integrant Foundation, a technocracy that focuses on adaptability.

That's great. I wish I had the intelligence to write games like what you're doing. Are you planning on seeing if you can sell it some time in the future or is this just for our enjoyment?
 
Looks neat, I like these type of games and mechs are always win. You guys hiring a texture artist by chance 😀 😉

Well, what I want to do is see what the reaction to this alpha is like, and then take it from there. If people think that the game has potential, then I will continue to develop it further. If not...

Please just bear in mind that this is still an alpha, so it has some rough edges. Expect bugs and crashes!

Not at the moment! But see above, might need one!
 
I tried to play it but nothing happens. When I launch it with DX it comes up in a window with the title screen with select a user and create a user. I type a name in and hit create and it the name disappears and nothing, I had it once the window just turned all black and nothing. I tried OGL and it went fullscreen and same deal as DX, create user and nothing happened.

EDIT:

Didn't see that another window came up (popped up behind my browser) after I installed the game.
Received a Microsoft Visual C++2010 x86 Redistributal Setup error saying Please resolved the following: A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributalbe has been detected on the machine.

And it will just let me print, save, or close the window the continue button is grey'd out.

I didn't see this window before because like I said it came up behind my browser and when the game was done installing I hit the finish button that launched the game.

Dont worry about the Redist, you have a newer version installed which is fine.

Regarding the black screen, try zooming out. There is a bug that has the camera not centered correctly. If you zoom out, you should be able to see the battlefield.

I only had the black screen come up like the first time. Every single time I launch the game it has for me to create a user and has no users created that I entered. When I enter a user name and hit enter the name disappears and it just sits there like it was first launched.
 
This has a simularity of MechAttack or some variant name from way back in the Amiga days, I put many hrs into that game.

Will give it a try.
