That might be something we can do using the page parser, but that can get a bit complicated since it is pulling the single page print view when it parses the topic. I'll look into it a bit.

The ability to view to private messages is now at least theoretically possible. Someone will need to come up with a parser for this page, after which I can integrate it into the overall site and add the ability to reply. Any volunteers?

On my end of things, adjusting font sizes and the ability to post a new thread are next.

Made a number of small updates to the site today:

- Added a font size selector option (store current font size in session).
- Changed the individual thread view to UTF-8 encoding.
- Added a stripslashes() call to the posting code.

The big one is the font size adjustment that's accessible via the categories list page (the index). This should make the site much more usable for various devices.

I cannot login using my LG enV (9900). Everytimei put in my credentials it goes back to the main category listing with "login to the forums" at the top. I have cleared the cache and history from the phone which did not help

I have the same problem (Same phone,LG VX9900)

I can view the site fine, just can't login/post. It is painful though to scroll down through long posts

One big improvement would be to draw a horizontal line or some other delineation when a poster uses a quote. It is very difficult to quickly determine where the quote ends and the new comment begins.

All I can really change and hope does the trick is to change the one GET variable sent by the login form to a POST variable. Everything else is server-side and shouldn't differ from device to device. Hmm - do you have session cookies disabled?

I like that an entire post comes down in one piece! But that may be because I rely on Wifi devices and wander in and out of reception all the time - so it's to my benefit to grab the whole post to read "offline". I could break each thread up into multiple pages - if there's more of a demand for this I might give it a try.

This would be difficult. We still mostly rely on the stylesheets that the real AnandTech Forums use - using that, we draw the shadowed quote box in most browsers. That effect must not be displayed on your device (I know it's not on my BlackBerry 8700). Anyone got an idea of how I could quickly convert a quote DIV to something more globally displayed?

Two fairly sizable updates today:

Added alternating font colours for quoted text. I'm not sure how many mobile device browsers support this, but if you're having trouble distinguishing quoted text from the actual reply in a thread, look around for an option to allow HTML colours to be displayed.

Added the Health and Fitness category to the list of available forums.

I log on at home with Motorola Q9C (regular pc is down) and the site is nice.

Problems: (from most important to least)

1. Can't get to the bottom/last page of long threads (10 pages or more..such as the SERO thread in Hot Deals)
2. Can't quote
3. Not sure the login screen is secured or not

I just fixed the issue of PHP warnings being displayed when a thread is replied to. You should no longer automatically get subscribed to a topic when replying to it.

I'm ceasing development of the site for now, as the administrators of the AnandTech Forums have indicated that the forum software will be switched to vBulletin in the near future. Fear not, however, as I have already written a mobile interface for vBulletin and will deploy it when the software switch occurs.

It works on my Tilt, but not in large threads like the WoW thread in PC Gaming. It seems like it tries to load all responses into one page and just display that... well the WoW thread has about 4000 replies .
