The front plug of your z560s (should be lime green) goes into L - the lime green jack.
The rear plug of your z560s (should be black) goes into I - the black jack.

Open your motherboard's audio control panel and set speaker mode to "Four channel analog" or "Quad Speakers" or whatever's closest to that. :)

Put the sub in a corner. Turn on the speakers. Crank up the bass knob.

And kiss your spine goodbye. :D

Check your connections at the z560's sub/amp box. You might have a dirty plug or just in the wrong spot. Make sure all your speakers are plugged into the right spot.

I also remember there being some talk about z560s having a bit of "buzz" when cranked to high volumes. Just back off a little until they're broken in. :)

now i get sound out of right front, but very low. on the speakers, i think i plugged them in right. i got 2 short cables, and 2 long cables. the way my desk is and how i set them up, i used 1 short 1 long for the rears, and 1 short 1 long for the fronts, that shouldnt matter does it, just all speaker wire of different lengths?

Use the two long ones for the rear cables.

Also, make SURE you've got the +/- orientation correct (IIRC, the z560s use standard speaker wire to attach themselves to home base)

French pardoned. The proper curse is "fvck" btw. :p

If you didn't pay any attention to +/-, disconnect those RIGHT NOW and fix them. It'll be a wonder if you didn't do any lasting damage. :Q

And yes, the length of wire affects sound - the positional audio mostly. The delay factor will be off by a bit - may not be noticable right off or to a nondiscriminating ear, but someone who lives in surround gaming/video will pick it up quite quickly.

Try plugging ONLY the light green pin from the z560's into "L" on your MB, with M3D depressed and fade to the right , you should have all 5 speakers.
