This has to stop. It doesn't happen every night, but it happens enough to be annoying. Some moron in a POS shitbox will flash their lights as I pass them because they think I have my brights on. Nope. Just HIDs. My lights are LESS likely to blind someone because they auto-balance and aim even when going around a curve or taking a turn. Flashing your lights at me because you are an idiot redneck is getting old. Now, please die. :)

since so many people are flashing you perhaps they are not as great as you think they are.
People are being blinded by them, so they flash .
I sometimes forget and leave my foglights on and peeps will think its my brights. I just turn them off to help them see, no big deal?
Its called realizing your not the center of the universe.

If someone is being blinded by foglamps, you really need to get them adjusted. They should be lighting the area just in front of your vehicle...no pointing up into the eyes of other drivers.

And I agree with the HID crap. Maybe they are not so great, and you need to get them fixed.

I put One of the "Blue light" headlights in my piece o' junk Full size van.

One of my co-workers was ahead of me on the way to work, and asked me "what is wrong with your one headlight, its aimed really wierd, and I had to move my mirrors."

The light burned out in about 45 days, I put the old headlight back in, and thats been about 6 months.

The best headlights i've ever used have been the Sylvania Silverstars. They claim to be super bright, and they are a bit brighter, but they have lasted very long. For some reason, my car loves to burn out a headlight in about two months. I have had these for over a year now, and they are still working. Well worth the $40.

I never said a word about foglights. Neither you or daniel can read. My lights work perfectly fine. I've driven a vehicle in front of my own car many times, and if anything they create less glare than normal lights.

I'm not using non-standard bulbs. These are stock bi-xenon lights on my SLK.

maybe the angle of insertion of the lights? As far as I understand there's like level 1 to 5 for the angle which your lights can point at.

also, do u drive a bus? :p that might explain things....

People flash their lights at me all the time. I think it's because my lights are aimed slightly too high, but I can see fine so I don't care.

Wikipedia makes HID sound inherently worse for other drivers due to the high output and the self leveling requirement is an attempt to keep the damn things under control:
"Vehicles equipped with HID headlamps are required by ECE regulation 48 also to be equipped with headlamp lens cleaning systems and automatic beam levelling control. Both of these measures are intended to reduce the tendency for high-output headlamps to cause high levels of glare to other road users."

I do find them worse, personally, when I see them around while night driving. Not as bad as those asses with a bunch of extra headlights slapped on, though.

No.

One of these day's you will blind someone and they will crash into you head on. Karma's a b!tch.

I hate people with HID's - it doesn't matter how they self level if they crest a hill coming towards you, or are on some giant truck so even aimed down they catch you in the face. They are so much brighter than normal lights that all it takes is a flash to give you momentary blindness and/or a headache.

fvck HID lights and the people that own them.

lol, so basically you want the other driver to think like this:

"Man, those lights are f8cking blinding my a$$"

"I can't see sh8t, let me flash the guy"

"Oh wait, I better not - they may be HIDs. HIDs are too expensive for me, but that guy must be rich to own them. I better not do anything and drive in my blind stupor. Must not offend rich HID owner"

I get a fairly intense headache frequently when I pass people using HIDs. I don't care whether they self balance or not... they still blind me.

My wife has a Beetle with HIDs and we get flashed all the time. I've driven in front of her car and the headlights are like lasers, they're pretty bright! :Q

Forget regular HID lights. Truck lights are far worse. Especially raised trucks. There is either no law enforcing how high these stupid trucks can be raised with the proper headlamp adjustments or cops just don't enforce it.

I fvcken hate raised trucks.

Oh yeah and the light in my eye thing...
