While its easy to laugh at them for figuring out how to build a clock, they can easily point out how a mosque will rise in downtown Manhattan while we still bicker over what is the best thing to build on the hole they left us almost nine years ago.

But really its a question of where a circle starts and ends. How can we say anyone's answer is right or wrong? What gives them rascally Brits to say Greenwich mean time is the gold standard? As for me, I DEMAND that the Time zero line pass through Indianapolis, Indiana. You all better agree or else I am going to get angry and throw a temper tantrum. But then again, I don't think anyone else in the world cares if I throw a temper tantrum or not.

So I will amend my appeal to the same thing them rascally Muslims want, I hope you agree with my position. And you too can do what I do, set my local time clock to Indiana time in my Microsoft windows set your local time module.

Its 5:38 PM now, why do I give a shit about what time it is in Greenwich or Mecca.

They do raise a good point on using the Greenwich meridian. It's essentially a glorification of the death the British Empire brought all over the world through its death ships. It's an artifact from one of the bloodiest eras of human history. Why not change it to something that doesn't glorify death? It's macabre as it is right now.

Those dumb bastards back in 1884 didn't know that Mecca was the center of the world. They didn't "impose" anything on anybody, it was just an honest mistake.

And what should we make it? D.C.; capital of the "free world", most militarily powerful country, etc? Beijing, the rising economy? Delhi, the second rising economy? Rome, the home of Catholicism? Jerusalem, home of three major religions? Mecca, the home of Islam?

What an incredibly sexist remark that denies the same right to those who are born female. We have to understand how they should face too when setting their clocks.

But then again, we must realize that the Saudis who only hope we will all set our clocks to Mecca mean time have at least put their money where their mouth is by building a bazzion dollar clock tower. What bazzion pound clock have the Brits erected in Greenwich to deserve the distinction?

As fer me, I have this $10.00 solar light on my back porch that has the greater virtue of being humble. Drop on bye, I will leave the light on for you.

It's not something that is answered spontaneously. Greenwich was chosen following an international conference. We can do another.
