I also swear by seagate hard drives but the WD640(x2) is what I would get if I were ordering today.

Why not Seagate now (besides the fact that it's out of stock at Newegg)?

I have already downgrade the processor to E8400. Thanks for the good suggestion.

WD Caviar SE16 "Blue" or WD Caviar "Black" are the models to buy.
The only difference between those is the cache size, correct?

BTW, Add the Sennheiser RS110 wireless headphones to your cart also.
LOL, I already own it. My co-workers bought it for me when I got married. This way, I can blast my shotgun and throw grenades in my games when my wife's sleeping.

Thanks for the recommendations.

There are no problems with Vista64 gaming. There's some guy over in the PC Gaming forum who has >400 games installed & working perfectly with that OS. And I've used it myself without any problems.

The Caviar Black drives are a bit faster overall than the Blue ones but just go for the WD6400AAKS -- it's quiet, cool, and fast - what more could you ask for?

Does Vista64 recognize the WD HDD upon installation? Do I have to install the SATA driver manually?

Yes. No. The Vista installer recognizes SATA controllers automatically.

Also, if you have a printer, check and see if it has 64-bit Vista drivers available - printers are the worst when it comes to having 64-bit drivers.

Thanks for the heads up. Apparently, HP does not have the driver for my printer that works with Vista64.
