Please refresh my memory: socket 7 vs super socket 7

I have a small problem guys, maybe y'all can help. My mother-in-law's comp died the other day and needs a new cpu.
The comp is an e-machines 333mhz. I was surprised to discover a micro atx board with a socket 7 cpu inside. I was more
surprised that it was a Cyrix mII 333.

The question is, what can I replace it with? I can't even find the cyrix proc at my favorite online or b&m stores.
The mobo dips only support vcore from 2.2 volts up to 2.8. I believe this eliminates the AMD K62 + (plus series) procs.
I seem to remember that they could only handle 2.1 vcore max. Is this right?
How about the older AMD K62's I seem to remember that the vcore for these procs was right in the 2.2 - 2.8 v range.

I know someone is going to ask but no I haven't figured out what motherboard this is. Any suggestions on this endeavour would be
appreciated. I can't boot it up to grab the bios string and there is an obvious lack of markings on the board.

In short what can I use as a replacement for this turd?

Thanks y'all

Just curious...how do you know the CPU is the problem? And yes a K6-2 should work(there in the 2.2-2.4v range).

DieHardware,
I assumed either video or proc due to no boot screen, no input signal to the monitor, nada, zilch. Just the fans and the hdd spinning.
I tried disabling the on-board video and stuck in an old pci vid card, nothing. I then reseated the ram and the proc. Nothing. I then
slapped in an old pentium 133 I had in the junk pile and viola`, it booted and started loading windows.

To Geek 167: The socket says "socket 7". It has the same pin count array as a regular socket 7. I don't really have any experience with
super socket 7 boards. How do you tell the difference and just what is the difference?

Any other considerations (fsb multiplier etc) that I should consider if I try an AMD K6-2 series?

Thanks for the input

Not trying to thread crap...you wrote:

You should be able to get the bios string of the board if it boots to windows.

DieHardware,
You are observant. I should have posted that part as an edit to original post. I tried the pentium after the first post
and didn't think about the possibility of confusion when I posted the second time. It's all moot now anyway, I just
found a source of info dedicated to upgrading/overclocking these e-machines.

Thanks y'all
