Can someone recommend me all the settings. like multipliers and stuff.
mobo: asrock dual sataII
cpu: x2 4200
ram: 2gb (512x4)ocz premiere
video: x800 xt pe agp

Also,I tried as a try to change the multiplier from 11x200 default to 12x200 to make it run at 2400mhz,but it boots up as 2200mhz. When I come back to bios,it's like nothing changes..What should I do?

Multipliers are locked upwards, hence it resetting. Also, depending on what BIOS version you have, a lot of the changes might be lost on a reboot (get BIOS v1.20 from the ASRock site to fix this.Their updates seem to intent on reducing overclocking options :S).

You'll also get moaned at for having 4x512, just so you know.

Up the HTT/FSB frequency (it's at 200 currently) to overclock.

Memory will most probably need 2T. The dividers are referred to as DDR400(=1:1), DDR333 etc...

Based on the factyou tried to just up the multiplier, I'm going to assume you are new to overclocking, and also maybe haven't done much research regarding your hardware, I'd suggest reading the Quick n Dirty OCing guide.

Also, http://www.OCworkbench.com/asrock

AMD processors are top locked meaning 4200 has a 5 -11x multiplier. You need to overclock HTT(FSB) if you want your processor to overclock.

What should you do? Read about overclocking A64.. It's not that difficult and you can keep your memory stock by using dividers.

Also you need to DL the beta OCWB bios to properly OC this board since fatory loses settings all the time (but that's not related to your current issue)

I have 1.50 that it came with from the box.

So,I just make the HTT to something like 210-220? Will I have to divide anything. I just wanna make it simple, you know.
Wanna make it run at 2.4ghz. nothing fancy

I'll try upping the htt to 221 and the pc froze within an hour.

I don't quite understand the divider part.Cans someone please guide me through? A64 guide is meant for those who at least know that...

So I go to the bios, memory and instead of 200(ddr400) I set it to 166(ddr333). From there,I just up the HTT and that's it or I have to do something else?

thanks

A quick way to caculate your RAM speed:
HTT*RAM speed divider/200
(example: 240*166.67/200=200)

So if you set your HTT to 240 and RAM speed to 166, it's running at the normal 200.

Then you can adjust your CPU multiplier down from 11.0 if needed for stability. That's not the way to figure out you max OC, but that is the easiest way to get started with a decent OC.
