The 7950 itself won't pull more than 200W, the 500W figure takes into account that not all psu's can actually supply what they advertise. the Rosewill should be fine.
PC Power & Cooling PSU are the quietest on the market......huh...speak louder what did you say????
Seasonic's PSUs have been pushed way beyond my typical budget in the UK, so I'm using Antec HCGs. The 400 and 520 are as quiet as I've expected from using Corsair VX450Ws for a long time.
I can't make any comments for how powerful a PSU you need because the most powerful GPU I've used is a 5770 on my VX450W (so far, no probs).
I came across the S12II 430B while browsing today. So it was really the loudest part in your system? I have 2 front 120mm fans running at ~600 RPM, a rear 120 running at probably <1000, and the stock CPU fan running at about 1400 I think. I'm wondering if the S12II would be any quieter than the Rosewill CAPSTONE 450. They are both the same price (non-modular) except the SeaSonic shipping costs $10. The modular Rosewill is currently out of stock.
How efficient are these silent PSUs at say sub 100 or around 50W? I have an under clocked A10-5800K that takes about 40-50W idle, but the old crappy PSU I am testing it with almost consumes 10-20W by itself. So I need something new and efficient. 140W to 250 or 300W max. Any ideas?
