My idea of a WTFDIJW movie, is one that assaults the mind but is an entirely enjoyable experience. As opposed to a WTFDIJWMTO (WTF Did I Just Waste My Time On) type WTF movie, which I am sure half of the movies in this thread are the latter(thread grew in size by a number of posts since I last looked). I don't recommend movies like that.

And what consider 'fairly mainstream' is far from the truth. Those three listed, I know MANY individuals who have not seen them, and most of those people are ones that I know have liked very similar movies in terms of style. They are more cult-type movies, with a smaller audience of fans than less WTF movies.

Interesting movie. This is the only movie I can think of where the censored version is BETTER than the uncut version.

The censored version is a comedy of true genius. The uncensored version is an over-the-top sophomoric attempt at comedy that is more shocking than should be and fails as a comedy.

So you know, this is a spoof documentary of a serial killer.

I didn't list any bad movies. I didn't list an B movies. I didn't list any student movies. I didn't list any abstract or associative movies (except Andalou).
 
Meh, End of Evangelion.

I enjoyed it, but people turning into orange juice,girl size of the earth killing everyone, masturbating to a comatose girl made me do several wtf's.

no, it's definitely a very good WTF. first time seeing it kind of blows your mind. if you're like me, you'll probably watch it a few times, and each time completely change what you think. or potentially 'get it' like some people did the first time around. you'll either love it or hate it. if nothing else, the movie has amazing visuals. so, make use of that if you're into anything 'natural'.

The acting by the "child" in this is amazing! Her personality is frightening, although it's targeted in the right direction, but still....

lol. I remember watching it & just not understanding WTF was going on @ all. I never watched the series. Yeah, the whole masturbating to the passed out girl during all the bizarre religious stuff... hmmmmm. Think I need a :beer:
 
ok im going to say it.... Requiem for a Dream fucking SUCKED HARDCORE! i thought this was close to the dumbest movie id ever seen (which was the laws of attraction... or cabin fever) terrible terrible movie. ppl give this movie so much gusto and credit for not doing drugs. talk about how crazy and awesome it was....... not really! i just thought it was shitty...

my WTF suggestion........... Borat........ seriously, WTF?!

maybe... maybe you shouldn't see The Fountain. While stylistically and completely different from Requiem, it's the same director. And I don't want you stomping your claims of suckage on The Fountain. Bad enough you stomped all over my love of Requiem. 🙁 😛

What was it you didn't like about Requiem? The crazy video editing? I hear that is what turns people away most often.
