I need a decent pair of earmuff headphones for gaming, that are comfy, good sound and cost less than $60 please. Any recommendations ? I was wondering about the 5.1 digital zalman headphones anyone have any experience with these thanks ?

The bass and clarity is great, plus they are easy to drive..in other words they sound good with a basic sound card.

I can wear these all day long ..trust me , these are comfy as cans get.

I should add that if bass is what you are looking for then there are probably better options out there, these tend toward the brighter hi-fi sound.

Go look around at Head Fi forums for some headphone reviews.

THESE

5.1

They have 4 speakers in each with directional sound. I own them and have them hooked to a SB2 ZS. Up the bass a little and lower the front channel and up the rear channel. Leave the center alone.

And they are ready to go. I know exactly where the MI-8 is in BFV.

I paid about $140 AUD for my Sony MDR-CD380s- no idea what that translates into on yank bucks, but a hazy memory suggests that equates to about that amount (very hazy :) ) Absolutely no complaints- massive bass, does the treble very nicely for classical stuff 2, d3 and far cry are great with them, and extremely comfortable- only stereo of course tho

I have the Sennheiser HD570. On one session I used it straight for about 4 hours and they didnt bite one bit. They make great headphones. And a heads up, the HD 570 dont have that much bass, unless you can get it out of the amplifier. They retail for around 77$ now. And the 590's for around $115. They are much better I hear. Like tkdkid said, "For that amount of money don't even consider gimmicky crap."

CD.

i suspect my Sony's are out of their league here- i also suspect that they retail for rather less than they did in 2001 :p

They sound f&*king awesome tho, love cranking my pink floyd on them (esp Division Bell :) )very comfortable 3yrs down the track, and have taken all the sh*t that me and my drunken mates have thrown at them

(How amusing is the little 'you have censored word in your text error code blah de blah' message, never seen it b4 ;)

which sonys do you have ? the sennheisers recommended here are too much, the hd570s are $250 canadian up here. I'm willing to spend like $100 canadian tops on these.

I've read bad reviews with the Zalmans. I'm also interested headphones, but I tried the Grado SR-80s and I found the bass to be weak. It may have been because I was running them off a laptop though.

Very comfortable, awesome sounding !

(edit: the pads are velvet! , that pic does not do them justice either!)

WHOA those things finally made it to US mass-market. i have a set that were imported from europe - they are excellent and have been compared to senn HD600s. dont need amplification either.

i would not get the zalmans... the good reviews you see are likely from gaming sites that dont know good sound from bad. you dont need 5.1 to get good positioning - after all you only have 2 ears.
