Question Please recommend a video card to pair with i7-4770S

Somone game me a i7-4770S CPU, and I happen to have an MSI H81M-E33 mobo laying around along with some DDR3 RAM. Thought I'd build myself a cheap PC to stream some older games to my smartphone on my LAN.

The mobo is a PCI Express 2.0 so no sense in anything too crazy. What would be a good matchup for this CPU?

PS: I have a RX 580 laying unused, and in a pinch it will do, but I wonder if its way overkill for this CPU?

Why spend when you already have something to throw into it and make it work?

Also, the CPU will do FHD60. What would you be playing that needs anything more than that?

This is a very good choice for this CPU.


Anything nvidia is going to have way to much driver overhead for that CPU. Stick with AMD.
