Most people out there prefer Tiny Personal Firewall over ZoneAlarm Pro. Some like Sygate Firewall. I have not tried those two so can't say about it.

If you just need a Firewall use Win XPSP2 firewall.

Personally I use the Norton Internet Security for one ?Big Reason?, it is a Firewall, Antivirus, Popup Buster, Ad -Buster, and more in one package.

My experience shows that One package is better and less troublesome for the TCP/IP Stack. Otherwise the Stack is intercepted by few programs each doing its own things and sooner or later it goes to the Moon.

I have used Zone Alarm, Sygate, and Kerio for Windows XP. Here's just my experience with them.

Zone Alarm 5 - gave problems with playing games, seemed to blog down the system (uninstalled)
Sygate - problems with WinXP SP2 and Cisco VPN (uninstalled)
Kerio - Lots of firewall messages, not as easy to work with settings as Sygate (current)

I cannot recommend Zone Alarm 5 from my experiences. Sygate is a great firewall, but it just didn't work with my VPN which was why I had to switch. Kerio is another good firewall as well. I don't have any problems with it, but it's not as friendly (in my opinion) as Sygate.

The best thing to do is go to www.download.com and search each software and look at the user reviews. It's not 'totally' accurate, but gives you a general idea.

ZoneAlarm Pro Suite comes with anti virus, too so you might not need PC-Cillin.

I don't have any problems playing game with ZoneAlarm Pro Suite 5. I don't know which game you are having problem with ZAP.

I believe the game was City of Heros, and this was ~10 months ago. After the uninstall, everything was fine (yes I don't understand it myself at times). I wish I could be a bit more detailed on the matter, but it wasn't my computer.

Thanks for the input that everyone has given. In the beginning I was going to get the service, but the $25/month ($300/year) increase in costs doesn't justifies the performance given for the things I do. I believe the upload is more important to me (right now) instead of the download speeds.
