The Okidata lower end printers are just as good as the lower end Epson, however they require network card @ around $200 if you are going with Ethernet. Another option is to get a long serial/parallel cable and hang the printer off a PC if price is a concern.Originally posted by: oli84
I checked some of these and they're still on the high side in terms of price. I'm looking to more like $300-$500.
Are the other models but still Epson or Pacemark still worthy options?

Are the printers that you guys are mentioning "wide" format printers? That's the kind we need. I've taken a look at the 590 and 591 and they seem pretty good, just that I'm not sure if they are wide-type printers.
