I notice that when I leave my computer on all night encoding, cracking, or whatever it is usually frozen in the morning.

If I take the cover off it's okay. Obviously I need better cooling.

I have a PIII850, not overclocked with retail heatsink/fan.
Enlight 7237 case with two Sunon Quiet 80mm fans.

I was thinking of getting the standard Sunon 80mm fans and a better cooler for the Processor.

How is the Silver orb? I don't want to get anything too loud.

Thanks for helping out.

I'm surprised to hear about a non-overclocked retail processor with a heat problem. Are you sure this is the problem? Regarding coolers, their are lots of good choices out there. The golden orb is a great value and has a outstanding clip arrangement so installation is foolproof. Get the origional Thermaltake brand, they are well respected. Of course, the Alphas are considered to be the best, by most people that is, but costly. Just about anything will be better than the stock HS. Good luck.

You may wanna try removing the thermal pad from the bottom of the retail heatsink/fan and using thermal grease or Artic silver instead - that pad ain't the most efficient in the world. If you're looking for a quiet cooler, the lower-specced Taisol uses a very quiet fan, and being designed for Athlons/Durons at default speed it would be more than capable of handling a PIII.
