Please read, need help

1.) I am getting a new cingular phone but not directly from cingular. My mom is giving me her blackberry. Do I need to contact cingular whne I switch the phone for them to enable everything or can I just insert my sim card and go?

2.) Some people at work have downloaded the iPhone software and installed it on their blackberry's. Can this be done on any phone? Is the software a large file would it slow down some phones. I mean would the phone need some req specs to operate it?

1) If she has Cingular and you have Cingular, just pop in your Sim and all will work fine.

2) I have never heard of this, but it doesn't sound like a very good idea. I wouldn't attempt it.

like stated pop teh card and go.


The software is either files to make the screens look that way, or if they are savvy enough they are downloading cooked roms, which instantly void any warranty and can brick your phone.

But alot of cooked roms are better than factory roms.
