Get a 3820. I got mine to 4.75 @ 1.355v. I have room temp and voltage wise but it won't post at all at 4.875. It was mid 70's during P95 with the Megahalem.

Ivy runs so hot you won't get the max clock with that cooler.

Wait. Its a non oc chip and you're ocing it?

Here is the reason why the EVO is better. Reviews don't note this for some wierd reason.

The Temps is the only reason Im not jumping on IB

Usually I like the newest tech, but I honestly dont think its worth it this time around, especially because of the high temps.

I actually picked up a Zalman CNPS10X Performa. It is supposed to outperform the 212 EVO and the Noctua U12p according to the reviews. I got it for $20 on a shellshocker deal so we will see.

i was hope u can help me cuz i have verey some thieng is get me crazy fierst i have to admier u cuz u gold member with alot of exprience in Pc so i hope u help me i have that zalman performa 10 and i read alot of review that say its the hiper212 evo is more biter then zalman with 4/5 degre in stres with prime 95 so is that tru or not i have an amd 965 125w with stock speed i get 42D with fan 1400 with resistor
with oc 3.8 it get hot 53D with volt 1.425 i cant get more then thies my Mb is bad msi 770 G45 no satbel even with volt 1.55 and get hot with 3.9 57D and no stabelitey
any way i ned 2 know i see u have 2 kiend zalamn + evo is realy worth to change and ther realy 4/5 dgree for the hiper better then zalman or its littel then that ? and is zalam strong to builed with pc like x58 and i7 950 oc or the hipper 212 evo is good

I was hoping you could help me, I have the very same thing. It is getting me crazy. I have that zalman performa 10 and I read a lot of reviews that say hyper212 evo is more better then zalman within 4/5 degrees under prime 95. Is that true or not? I have an amd 965 125w stock speed and I get 42 degrees Celsius with fan at 1400 rpm.

At 3.8GHz it gets hot at 53 degC with 1.425v. I can't get more then this. my Mb is bad MSI 770 G45 not stable even with 1.55v and gets hot with 3.9GHz 57 degC and no stability.

anyway I need to know is it really worth it to change? Is hyper212 really better than zalman? Is zalman good for x58 and i7 950 OC builds or is the hypper 212 evo good enough?
Fixed. 🙂

ban pls

I can only tell you the EVO is doing good on my i5 2500K. I think that at the current voltage (1.315) I can get 4.6GHz somewhat stable (tried games, not Prime95). Overall, at 4.5GHz it never exceeds 69C, even after some prime time. I guess the new chip will be significantly hotter than SB, if the reviews are to be trusted.

Sb runs cooler than ib

Yea so im assuming that if one can get 4.5 on sandy bridge, then you can expect .2-.3 less on ivb.

Im probably gonna order the noctua tonight. Im probably never going to use water cooling - and this is the best it gets as far as air cooling goes.

The only reason i would shy away from this, is if theres going to be something significantly better and then ill have to buy a different air cooler in the future (kind of how im stuck with my zalman 9700 and my tuniq tower - both ok, but there are far better options out there.)

But if i get this, this will be the cooler i take with me through my next few builds, and ill know im getting the best temps i can get on air.

Using 212+ with 3770K @ 4.6

temps.jpg

whats your setup? case? Extra fan attched?

I may just go with a 212 evo, if i can get temps like that. But then again, i bought the protection from intel, so i wanna OC the crap out of it.

I bought a P280, and also picked up 2 extra case fans, so my cooling should be pretty decent case-wise.

You don't need to be a native english speaker to write in a considerate format. It's not just because his grammar is atrocious.

im thinking troll. Who changes the font on purpose, and purposly spells names of what hes talking about wrong?

i need to know what fan is good i see alot of review that is hiper212 evo is good and i have zalman performa CNP 10 in most review i see hiper evo have 4/5 c low then zalamn performa so is any one her have the zalamn performa then he tried the hiper212 evo cuz i need to know is real or fake that is hiper stronger then zalamn .
really??? cane you imagine what a mess the forums would be if everyone was as annoying as this? seriously?!!?

New here but I'd like to share my results. Currently using a 212 EVO and AS5 paste with my i5 3570k. Currently stress testing in OCCT as we speak at 4.0Ghz with 1.15vcore. Max temps are 60 degrees so far. I'm hoping to hit 4.5Ghz but I'm not sure if I'll be able to hit that without it getting to toasty in there.
