They are stuck with a guy that pretty much is being chastised for catering to his own electorate (Romney) when he was Governor of Ma. What do you think he would have done? They elected him, he did what he said he would.

Now, if you are running for election in a different state, or for the nation, do you say you will do things the exact same way as you did in your state office? Do you represent MA or the country? It is unfair to judge him on that, although I do not like his flipping either.

The sad thing is, people will not be unwilling to elect him because he flipped. They will not elect him because he is a Mormon and they are pig-headed bigoted idiots that will not admit the true source of their illegitimate concerns.

For a country that found it difficult to elect a CATHOLIC not too long ago, how do you think they would feel about Mormonism? Christ, they had a problem with an unsubstantiated rumor of Obama being Muslim, nevermind a guy that is openly not "salt of the earth" Baptist/Protestant.

And Newt? He is a brilliant asshole. He just is not attractive enough to be elected. Sad, but true. That is how we elect our leaders. Stage presence over actual substance.

oooh, I'm down for that. We can do longbets, ATPN or whatever people use. I don't think Newt's taking the nomination, but that 500 is a sure bet if he faces Obama.

Same here. In fact, I think that I'd like it to be more than $500. Is this bet still available? I'd be fine with a Mitt Romney $10,000 bet, but I suppose $500 is sufficient. I can easily afford it, my financial position is very strong.

I think the real problem is that patriotism is dead. We have no enemy outside of this cloud of terrorism which is difficult to unite against because it has no one source. Now all we have left to do is bicker among ourselves for power and petty reasons.

so, basically, Al Qaeda continues to win, and the GOP is as happy as ever to continue conceding that win.

There's a saying never bet more then you can afford to lose. I'm not a person of means but I'm willing to risk my account here. What say you??

Newt doesn't get nominated push
Newt wins my account is retired.
Barak wins your account gets retired.

Obviously you can register under a new name but I would do such a happy dance seeing your post count back to 0.

That's a great bet. Racings for slips. That way no one welches either. He'll bitch out tho.

Godda love the GOP food stamp president charge against Obama.

Food stamp laws have not changed a bit, in the past 20 years, so the fact that there are more people on food stamps now is a simple predictor of the state of the US economy.

And when the GOP ran on improving the US economy in 2010, all the GOP has proved in the past two years is that the GOP stands four square for improving the interests of only the wealthiest 1% of Americans. As the other 99% of Americans are already on food stamps or will soon need them if we don't vote the GOP out of power in 2012.

If we vote in a GOP president in 2012, we will see far more and more Americans mean test into qualifying for food stamps. As the GOP is willing to throw all Americans under the bus
just to prove the GOP knows nothing about improving the US economy. As the GOP can also prevent anyone else from improving the US economy.

Just look at GWB, he inherited a strong US economy in 2000 AD and in eight short years GWB and the GOP fucked it all up and even collapsed the world economy too. So I ask, has the GOP learned a damn thing since?

Not to mention that the whole god damn accusation is basically racist. Over 40% of money for food stamps goes to white households, yet it always seems that black households get mentioned by the GOP candidates.
