I am an idiot and ended up buy dog food instead of cat food... Those IAMS packages are poorly labeled so I didn't know the difference until I glanced at it and notice a small
dog on the back of the label.

My cats are enjoying it right now, should I expect them to vomit it up later? I know the store won't take it back if is opened.

Did they tell you it?

If they did, how can you trust them?

You can speak to animals?

Can fish eat dog food?

well um, dog food = ground up chickens and horse meat, so why not, sounds yummy from where im sittin

they also eat garbage ... how healthy can THAT be for them... :disgust:
 
So should I give this bag of food to a friend right away or is it safe for my cats to go through this bag (the medium sized ones).
 
Is there something to do with the ash that helps their urinary tract?

It was the big chunks that made me look at the package 🙂
 
Considering the food is formulated for a dog's metabolism, it's probably not too good to feed it to your cats for a long time.. but it shouldn't hurt them too much short term.

Anyhow, I don't know what kind of acid you're tripping on, but the IAMS food I buy for my cat has a cat on the front of the package (green package) and says "cat food" on the front as well.
 
Hehe, the animal doesn't jump out at you though when you look at it at a glance 🙂

I don't want to risk any damage so I am going to get some cat food... after looking at a few sources on the net it sounds like the best thing to do. Now I wish I didn't post it here and make myself look like a bafoon 😉
 
I just checked and there is not picture of a dog on the front! My bro just came home with a bag of cat food so I am good now 🙂. The cat food has a cat on the front, why not the dog food?

There's not a huge difference, I think the cat food is higher in meat/protein, I'm surprised your cats like it though, mine don't. Dogs like the cat food though, but then they'll eat anything.

i thought cat food had more protein than dog food, but if your cat's eating it, don't worry about it. one bag of dog food won't kill it.
