Ok this is a long shot but hope somebody can help.

I'm looking for a case that looks alot antec Sonata III case.
I bought a case in 2003 at a local computer now no longer.
I think the antec case was probably a knock off of this case.

The case was all black and looks alot like the Sonata III but the filter in front had a door flip down tray once pressed you have access to the filter.

I know rosewill had something kinda like it but it was kinda cheap.

Thanks

Are you trying to prove that the Sonata II is a knockoff? I doubt Antec ripped off another case design. Now there are many manufactures that copy some of Antec's design features for there cases.

Dude i'm just trying to find a case that i bought long time ago.

I'm not sure when the Sonata II came out i think i bought that case in 2003

As for the design companys sell there patents all the time.

I think the Sonata II out when like mid 2005?

Well, many cases look like the Sonatas as all their chassis were OEM from the same company. Perhaps you were talking about the Antec SLK3000-B. The Rosewill R6A and the Compucase 6A series are basically the same as the 3000. Rosewill had a really slick version of it but I haven't seen it there in a long time. Both Rosewill and Compucase have several variations on it. The Tt Tsunami and several others are also on the same chassis. I think the Rosewill R5600 series are generally better than the R6A/3000 variants. The Compucase 6X series might be nice as well I think Rosewill had some of those too.

Wow thanks getting closer the SLK3000-B is almost the model looks the same i think only difference is the front pop door. I think i might just order that one if i cant find the other.

Yeah i under stand what your mean about oem cause i used the Compucase 6A on a build and out side kinda but the chassis was a dead match.

Thanks a MILL :}

I think Compucase (HECGroupUSA.com) (OEM for most of the above mentioned cases) made a model with the number 19 in it. I think that might be the one. Let me see if I can find some ref. at the Compucase site. Take a look at the 6x on the Compucase site (or Newegg). You can get a 6A without the door - look under Rosewill or Compucase on Newegg.

Yeah i went though newegg and looked under rosewill cases and just checked the compucase at newegg.

So close that I really think the only difference with that slk3000-b is the door and the color the one i bought was a dark black and the steel was thick it seemed such a well designed case.

Only a couple of sites have that slk3000-b and the one wants 49.00 just for shipping.

As I said, the Compucase 6A and the Rosewill R6A series is the exact same chassis design as the SLK3000-B (except for different cosmetics) as Compucase makes/made all of them, and you can get them for a LOT less as the SLK3000-B has been discontinued for some time.
And the Thermaltake Tsunami and perhaps other Tt units are on the same chassis too. One of the few problems with them is they generally can't take the long video cards. The Rosewill R5600 series is at least as good overall as the Compucase chassis but it can handle the long vid cards.

thats good to know would i have a problem with a 8800 GTS G92 you think?

I might just buy Sonata III its kinda what i wanted.

Antec also had some cases with a BQE suffix (Quiet series). Can't seem to find info on them any more. Don't they stick you with a PSU on the Sonata cases?

I found the old owner of that computer store and he said will go back and see if he can get the model/company on that case..

I figure the 3000 and similar can have a problem with a vid card longer than about 9.5', but the HDD rack is removable...
