I posted this site a couple days ago, but it's been changed considerably.

go to: http://csc131.com and log in with username "joe" and password "joe".

Once you're logged in, look at the directory navigation and tell me what you think. It's SUPPOSED to work exactly like Windows XP's explorer. Let me know if you find anything that doesn't work right, or you think anything could be improved.

Thanks :)

Looks nice, Tyler. The navigation is pretty much exactly like explorer; if there were any way to cut down on the constant refreshes, that would be cool though. :p

It's a little slow since it redraws the entire structure everytime you open a new folder, but it's pretty cool.

With everything expanded if you click on a new folder it takes 3-5 seconds to refresh, at least on my work connection using Firebird 0.6.1.

It's primarily going to be used over a 100mbit LAN, so I don't think the speed issues will be much of a problem in that environment. Of course, I'll see what I can do for the speed on slower connections, but it's not a big concern at this point.

Ok, made a few changes, it seems to refresh a bit better now, at least with IE 6 and the settings I'm using.

I like it. Seems quite fast as well. Is it doing directory listings on the fly, or do you have the hierarchy stored in a DB?

Nice CSS, and 0 table tag design too :)

It's doing directory listings on the fly, as of right now it doesn't do anything with databases, but there will be some additional functionality added that uses an SQL database in the future. I'm not 100% sure on query string size limits, but I believe it's a function of the webserver and is generally 65535 characters.

That's good, would suck if I spent all that time and it was worse :)
