Your argument with Tasque aside, I just feel the need to point out that the M5 you're talking about is the 2005 E60 M5, there have been numerous M5's before it, the one that's being phased out is the E39 which was introduced ~2000.
The first one came out ~1984-85.
Off topic I know, but I love those M5's(well except for the E60, that thing is fugly)
Why do you think you can go to threads that involve AMD chips and crap in them and then have a hissy and start saying people need to be banned when they are doing the same thing as you? I agree that personal attacks are not nescessary but, as Budman pointed out, and a few other members (including myself) have noticed, you crap in threads too. I mean the one I read the guy was asking a simple troubleshooting question and you post just one sentence that was obviously inflammatory. That was just one thread. Sometimes I wonder if religions are going to be phased out and new wars are going to start over product loyalty, sheesh.

In an attempt to un-thread-crap:
1). Felix, it's all well and good that you got a CPU that you like and OCed it. Yay. Devoting an entire thread to an OC that didn't even involve a good bang/buck CPU isn't going to generate much interest as it is, and devoting the thread to an oft-maligned CPU like the P4EE . . . well, let's just say you should have seen it coming. I'd expect the same from some guy bragging about a FX-53(939) OC. Rather, I'd expect someone chiming in to say how their 3800+ or 3500+ OCs about as well and provides similar performance for less money. Or something like that. In any case, it's perfectly acceptable(albeit not the nicest thing in the world) for someone to respond to your OC results with results of their own. Whether or not this constitutes negativity is unimportant. Counter-bragging is not only allowed, but is practically encouraged by a thread of this nature.
At least you weren't bragging on a K6-3 OC. Ha ha. *ahem*

3). I'm sure a discussion of the RX-8 and M5 would go very well in Off-Topic forum.
4). Tasque, the original FX CPUs were all socket 940 CPUs. Also, the FX-53(940) is practically the same CPU as the fastest single-CPU Opteron(Opteron 150). For all intents and purposes, when discussing the availability of motherboard features on Athlon 64 motherboards, the features on socket 940 boards should be considered, especially when FX processors are a major focus of the discussion. Not everyone runs their FX on a socket 939 motherboard.
Also, if encoding + storage + stability are your major concerns, then why are you using an EE? A Xeon rig sounds more up your alley, particularly a duallie with registered ECC RAM(stability counts, right?). The EE is counter-marketed against the FX, which is mostly a gamer/enthusiast CPU(even if there are non-gamer boards that will support the socket 940 FXs, making it potentially useful as a workstation CPU). The EE is, essentially, a gamer CPU. If I "had" to do tons of encoding, I'd go with Xeons, not with an EE.
5). Mloot(and others), people are jumping on Felix 'cuz he stuck his neck out. I'd expect the same from someone bragging on a 939 FX-53. Actually, I'll expect the same if/when someone gets an Athlon 64 4000+ later and brags about the OC on that. Sheesh. Look, ma, I bought a rebranded FX-53 with a clock lock! I am teh smart! Durr. You talk an awful lot of crap for a man with a rather truncated vocabulary (cowardness is not a word, and I assume 'apogize' is a verb referencing the word apogee which is the most distant point an object is from the Earth during its orbit; are you telling mark to go up into space and orbit far away from yourself?) and a wholly misdirected sense of value. But since you really called it out this time, I'll post a couple of links that you won't even respond to, but instead will yell the word 'troll' quite loudly. Oh, and stop attempting (keyword, since you mispelled it) to use the phrase "You, Sir..." to start your posts. It really does look like you watched it being said by someone much smarter than yourself in a movie and have henceforth tried to use it as a thin veil for a stunning lack of grammar usage.
Here we see almost every 2.2 ghz AMD processor handily owning your 3.4 EE in Doom3, and the 3400 costs less than a third of the EE's price. It's a safe bet mark's 2 2.2 ghz processors could own yours, since one will do the job.
Here we see your processor getting hosed once more, in all the synthetics for one but most noticably in Far Cry, arguably the most accurate game benchmark out there, and the EE is just getting run all over by the AMD processors.
This one's even better, where in UT2004 the single channel A64 3200+ (which retails at a mere fifth of your CPU) is owning up.
I won't even bother going into encoding benchies, any fool can realize that in SMP aware programs (i.e. any decent encoding app) dual 248's are going completely slaughter your EE.
You don't seem to realize that not everyone who posts a comment contrary to your beliefs is a troll. And sooner or later it's going to have to sink in that you, as the person giving the shortest and most flaming of responses here, is most qualified for the term 'troll'.
