Ugh, I don't even want to imagine trying to play that over the internet on Xbox. Ports of great PC games to consoles hinders the actual game. It pisses me off that people who play it for Xbox and aren't PC gamers, don't know how much more great the game is without a huge controller and running it at 20FPS. If I ever make a game, I'll never port it to any consoles. Now the arcade is another story...

I agree. I heard the port was actually really well done.

Well actually I meant in general. I played the demo of RTCW for the XBox and while the game seemed polished, I just didn't like the game in general. I never actually played the PC version so I don't have a basis for comparison, but for someone to think "ooh PC games are holier than all" is just plain stupid.

Oh, so you're telling me you played the original Mac version of Halo?

Quake2 sucked on all platforms, regardless. It was a bad port, not the fact that the console can't handle it. The SNES wasn't meant to handle Doom. Duke Nukem was a crappy game anyway. Have you played Ghost Recon, RTCW, Q3A, UT2K3, or Raven Shield on a console? Yep, thought not.

Yes, I played the original UT and UT2k3 on PS2, Q3A for Dreamcast and PS2 but I never played Raven Shield on a console because that's not my sort of game. And I have to say all the games listed above were fvcking pathetic on consoles. FPS + console = horrible, horrible game. The only FPSs that I would ever recommend would be the original Medal of Honor and Medal of Honor Underground. Frontline blew a fatty gameplay/fun wise as did Timesplitters I & II. Only games where you rarely have to move your crosshair up or down are decent on consoles. I've never played a fun deathmatch on a console before.

So nobody owns this game for the Xbox? I played the demo in the store and it seemed fun, but wanted to know how multiplay was.

How can any fps be any good w/o a mouse? The joystick for the n64 sux for James Bond. Shoulda beena pc game. Let alone ut or rtcw or ut2k3 or quake. there is nothing like aiming with a mouse. thank you. You have been a gracious audience. bye bye.

A controller can actually work pretty well for an FPS. Quake III for DC allowed you to customize your controls and I have a really great one. Not as great as keyboard/mouse but it was great.

1) The Xbox Controller S (which is the standard controller now) is hardly much bigger than a PS2 controller

2) RTCW ran awesome on a PC with a Geforce 3. The Xbox has a Geforce 3. OpenGL + RTCW = win - the game runs substantially faster than 20 fps

3) There was additional content and levels created specifically for the console version. Additional content = win

$$ is what makes companies roll games onto consoles. Video games are a business, not just for entertainment.

Anyway, back to the topic, I had it when it first came out. Live play was laggy for me. Other people I know that have it love it to death though.
