Know better how??? I don't really have a problem with either format. I mean, my DVD collection is about 60/40 WS/P&S b/c some of my films only had P&S versions. All I did was ask a simple question.

Didn't think I'd have a gun put to my head b/c of it

What does your sound system have to do with P&S? Not that I don't agree with your first statement. But even the P&S transfers have the same audio options as their non-butchered OAR brethren.

Not to mention that this subject is also discussed regularly at DVDTalk (hell it's probably in the FAQ there) and I think I've seen you post over there before.

And lighten up... just some good natured teasing. However, this is something that the DVD community is in almost total consensus about. P&S cuts off parts of the film image and ruins cinematography among other things. Art shouldn't be edited for any reason. It would be going to the Louvre in Paris and viewing the winged victory with her head chopped off... well... err... you get my drift

i bought the sound system because i wanted theater experience. pan and scan cuts the sides off. thats why it relates
