Someone is getting out and voting for Donald, so lets make a list of "some of the good about Donald Trump", for a change.

Me first. Me first.

Donald has talked about fixing the roads and bridges. Infrastructure.
All the candidates say the same, but most will actually cut funding once elected.
And the roads just keep on getting worse.

I actually think Donald would keep that promise, to fix the so called infrastructure.
And as Donald points out, which makes me believe he really means it, Donald points out that fixing would not take months and months but instead only days and weeks.
And not cost millions and millions per project as it costs now, but cost much less after Donald oversees and revamps all of those repair jobs.

He is correct, Donald Trump.
States play their little games with the MATCHING FEDERAL FUNDING on road repairs.
They all do it. All states.
States will tear up a road in April, or close a road in April, or close a bridge, and that road or bridge will stay screwed up and closed until the following December 15th.
Why?
To ensure the state uses up all their funding, both state and matching federal fund, as to qualify for even more funding for the next calendar year.
Or at least, not to lose or have that funding level reduced.

If a state spends one million on roads, the feds match that at some percentage.
But come next year, if the state fails to use up all their combined state and federal funding, the state loses that matching federal tax payer money.

So you can bet your granny's wheelchair every state is going to make sure they keep that matching federal money flowing. Spend every penny.
And the scam?
States usually fix the very same roads, year after year, over and over because they then know and can then estimate exactly how much that repair will cost.

Here is where tax payers are raked through the coals paying enormous state and federal taxes to keep this scam and the cash flowing.
A pot hole should not take nine months to fill.
Heck... Even Minneapolis replaced an entire collapsed bridge in under year.
And that only because that project the public demanded done NOW and RIGHT NOW.

But your average little road or bridge?
A state can play around with that repair project and drag it out for months.
You see it all the time.
Roads closed for months, holes dug up, and no one actually doing anything.
Most of the time all that the workers are doing, if a worker is even on site, is driving around in some machinery beeping.
Beep beep beep.
And doing exactly nothing.
And the passerby might think "WOW, THIS ROAD SHOULD BE UP AND OPEN REALLY SOON".
But no..... Nada. Doesn't work that way.
Not until December.
Typically, December 15th to be exact would be the date that road magically is finished or that bridge repaired, and reopen.

All this funny business with road repair no doubt leads to a lot of local and state government corruption.
Books cooked and money pocketed, with roads closed for months just to ensure the state qualifies for next years matching federal funds.

Donald appears to realize this.
As a business owner and involved in construction as he is, and with getting things done.
And getting things done fast and cheap. Or at least keeping his expenses down to a minimum.
Donald does that every day, or did do that every day.
THAT is how one becomes a billionaire.

Blowing state and federal money on screwing with a road for mine months, that is something only a state can do and get away with.
Donald realized that better than anyone else.
And that I applaud Donald Trump for.

When Donald talks about infrastructure repair, doing it fast and keeping it cheap, he knows.
He knows....

One thing I would expect president Donald Trump to do is completely overhaul that matching federal fund program. Come up with something completely new. And kick the states and their corrupt local leaders into actually fixing our infrastructure in a timely and affordable manner.
Cut the funny business out of state and local government.
THAT Donald would have the power to do.

Donald already has talked much about doing exactly that.
Yep! He knows how it works. The little games. The gouging of the tax payers.
Yep. Donald knows....

Next positive observation?

He's let us know who the racists are in this country.

Yep, shook the tree, they all fell out yelling "I'm not a racist!" on the way down.

But actually he does have some good ideas. But because he said all kinds of ridiculous bullshit he will never be elected because of it.

He wants to improve care for veterans
He wants to deal with the immigration problems we are having, but unfortunately in retarded ways that wont actually work
He wants to fix our crumbling infastructure
He wants to make medical marijuana widely available to patients, and allow states to decide if they want to fully legalize pot or not.
Force multinational companies to have their factories in the US and employ Americans

BUT I can never vote for him because he also wants to:

Defund planned parenthood
End birthright citizenship
Target and kill the relatives of terrorists
Get rid of Obamacare and replace it with something "terrific"
Destroy the EPA and Dept of Education
Appoint conservative SCOTUS judges
Let everyone carry guns everywhere
Antagonize the rest of the world
Be a dick

He's not evil, just aggressively stupid.

His hair is the same color as one of our cats.

They both seem to be looking to accomplish world domination, but I think I can keep Joey under control, though.

While I don't care what Trump says, I agree with the OP about the roads and the length it takes to repair them. I recall seeing a thread about a road in Japan that was destroyed by a landslide - the road bed was gone. They brought in the equipment to grade it for a new road, and had a new road in place, all paved, etc., in just a couple of weeks.

His butler at Mar-a-Lago loves him. That has to count for something. But that overly well done steak thing just lost him my vote. :colbert:

The most alluring fixture is his longtime Mar-a-Lago butler, Anthony Senecal, who detailed to The New York Times just how he caters to Trump and swaddles his ego when he comes to unwind.

There appears no more expedient way to do that than treating the Republican front-runner like the world leader he already believes he is. Senecal recalled a time, years ago, when Trump was to arrive shortly at Mar-a-Lago in bad temper, the Times reported. Senegal snapped into action, hiring a bugler to play “Hail to the Chief” as he entered the estate. Earlier this month, as Trump meandered through the living room en route to the golf course, Senecal shouted “All rise!” to the staff and members of the club, who did just that.

Senegal, 74, has learned the peculiarities of his billionaire boss. “You can always tell when the king is here,” he told the Times. He likes his steaks so well done they “would rock on the plate.” Every year, he alternates between a white Bentley and a black Bentley to drive to his golf course. If he emerges after reading his morning newspapers wearing a white baseball cap, he is in a pleasant mood. If it is red, well, it is going to be a more difficult day.

The home boasts some unusual art, including a portrait of Trump in the library, posing in tennis whites. Years ago, Trump would tell guests that the tiles in his daughter Ivanka’s room were made by Walt Disney—a great story despite the fact that it was untrue.

“Who cares?” Trump laughed, according to his butler.
