Help

My parents left their computer on all weekend and just got back today.

Now I am not sure if their computer somehow was shut off or if they restarted it but now it won't boot and it says insert bootable media.

all it can do is read of a floppy disk. a startup disk won't work. neither will their 1st aid disk that came with their computer.

please advise.

Sounds like the HD fu*ked up.
Try another HD and see, that happened to my friend's comp and his HD was mysteriously corrupted.

PS: Heat can do that, but he didn't have to replace it or anything, all he did was format and install windows and all that sh*t again.

actually they have 4 partitions on 2 HD and none of them are readable.

I would have assumed running the 1st aid disk would have cured what ails it by reformatting.

but they can't even get that far.

Its a 4 year old POS with Windows 95

I am trying to talk them into a new computer.

LOL, parents can be like that. My parents have an old 233 Packard Bell but I guess it's enough, unless my pops starts playing CS then It might get serious, hehe.
I think it's the HD's though, try putting yours in there and see if it boots.
