Please increase FONT SIZE when we post - and fix the TAB order!

These expiriments are beginning to wear thin. Its alot of extra work to type when the tiny fonts are so small. Crazy thing is when I edit a post the font size goes to normal! Then I go to post a new message and all is normal! That is a profile problem perhaps?

Another ah heck is the black "]" bracket next to "[FORUM : THREADS]". The old buttons were much nicer.

The biggest annoying bug is the TAB response after typing in a NEW TOPIC name. It jumps to the B (bold script) rather than to the NEW TOPIC message! I really miss the little things we took for granted in the old forum.

Hmmm, if I leave the forum and come back in the FONT SIZE when posting is miniaturized again!

MadRat the tabbing order is already set. View the source if you like the title is 1 and the body is 2. No idea what you are talking about font sizes they are set to size 2.

I'm using Netscape 4.6 and 4.71 on my machines. I recommend
you try them yourself. The 19" monitor on this PC takes some of
the micro-font pain away, but not much. If I edit the message then
the fonts are fine.

I'm not talking about the screen fonts of the webpage, but the
actual font we have to type our message with.

Your tabbing order is broken. It still does it from topic to bold!

I noticed that too, the reply text is very small for me. Maybe it is something with Netscape, since that is what I am running too?

Ok i managed to fix the font size thing, another lovely netscape bug. But tabbing is yet another fault of netscape tabindex is an html 4 standard and guess who doesnt support it? Your friendly netscape browser. Anyway sorry, maybe their next version will be a REAL browser :).

Correct :) It has been a substandard browser for a long time. From what I hear 6.0 doesn't look very promising.

Paulson: STFU.

Zuni:

<< From what I hear 6.0 doesn't look very promising. >>

This statement is just slander, 6.0 can do everything that IE5.5 can do.

[EDIT] I forgot to add that many people on this, and many other, boards use a REAL OS and can not use IE.

Zorba, wrong. It has plenty of problems displaying dhtml properly. Still has some table formatting bugs, still has some issues display form objects.

Zuni: Give me a link to a site that Netscape 6 can't do, and I'll believe you. Although if the code used is not in HTML 4, I don't care if Netscape can do it.

Paulson: Sorry about that, all the pro-IE crap has been pissing me off lately, because most of it is bs.

BTW: TAB order does work in Netscape 6.

Zorba, wasting time is not one of my top priorities :). If you haven't heard the complaints that you haven't been listening to the developer community. And you should care about html 4 standards, and proper form compliance. Anyway dead topic you like it enjoy it :) We dont have to.

Anyone worth their beans in the web development community knows IE set the standards from 4.x and on and now Netscape is playing catch up. I used to be a die hard netscape fan and ran 3.0 right until IE 4.0 came out. Then it was clear which browser was the technology leader. Too bad Netscape had a good thing going, just like football they fumbled then it went to hell in a handbasket.

Zuni STFU about Netscape.

Netscape followed the international HTML standards just fine. IE4 is no walk in the park, nor is it HTML 4.0 standard. IE5 merely moved back towards standards.

Zuni: Netscape is playing catch up, in a very big way. But Netscape 6 can run all HTML 4 standards, which I do care about, don't know where you got the idea that I didn't. The developers I am around are glad there is something besides IE and are trying to help Netscape fix their many problems. Like I've said though, I nor anyone else I know has had a problem with N6 using HTML 4. I also never said anyone else had to like Netscape, I just do think it is right for them to bash it without good reason (which is the reason I don't bash IE, there isn't a real good reason too).

If you don't like wasting time, don't get yourself into these dumbass debates :p.

EDIT: MadRat: Thanks for the support.

Also remember that many of the things that Netscape can't do are proprietary to IE only, and are not standards.

Since when did MS set HTML standards?
so is the "Best viewed with IE5.5" (if it don't crash your computer) banner next?

Ok, I just had to say this. The crappy computer statement has been a joke between Paulson and I for a while now. He knows how bad my computer is, and likes to tease me about it. I take no offense to what he said.

And I myself like IE alot better than Netscape, but it is all a matter of opinion.

I've been damn impressed with Mozilla since M14, now using friday's build of M18, it's pretty damn sweet. Blows IE out of the water as far as I'm concerned, and I am a web developer!

Netscape vs. IE is an tired debate. Enough already!

And leave Paulson alone. He's here, he's gonna put in his opinion whether you like it or not.
