all of a sudden whenever i click on a .zip file, winrar opens up. where can i change this so i can just save the .zip???

You mean you want the zip files to open in winzip (or whatever) instead of winrar? If that were the case, then you could simply reinstall winzip or whatever the program is that you want the zip files to be associated.
