I am really sad 🙁. i Installed an AC Accelera X2 on my 1800Xt with extra care and now my PC does not boot. The screen is even black. There are 2 red LED on the 1800XT (one says FAULT, second says EXT Power).

Is the the 1800XT dead or the the PSU is dead?

Please help!

yes... does it work with ext power supply?

I think I know why, my crapy PSU does not have a PCIe Power connector, the cable converter supplied with the 1800 XT has one of it pins coming out...

Checking the connection.

i wasn't insulting you its just i've done that before. i don't believe the psu would have died in the amount of time it takes to put on your HSF. what psu do you have?

Any Ideas?, Should I go grab a new PSU? WHere Can I find the board layout? what are those 2 LEDs, Any diagnostic flow chart?

Thanks.

i don't have an ati card to tell you what those 2 leds stand for but the one sounds like its not getting the external power it needs. the card should have came with a converter to go from 2 molex connectors to one pci-e

I DID clear CMOS first, then I did disconnect all connectors and reconnect them. My PC finally boot up fine. BTW, the power "converter" will connect from 1 molex to 3 pins only. the otherr 3 pins are not connected. Wierd. Maybe I need a better PSU.

AH... Not stable. I guess I need a new PSU. I could not even go past boot. The CD-RW could not be detected.

What is a decent PSU for less than $40 preferable 500 Watts, PCIe compatible and no SLI or Crossfire.
