I'm building a new computer and I've decided on the Gigabyte P35-DS3R for my new motherboard. However, trying to find RAM for this motherboard is proving to be a pain in the rear. Can anyone offer me any suggestions? Do you own this board and if so what memory is working for you?

I've spent the last hour looking over Gigabyte's memory spec sheet and then trying to find their suggested RAM on Newegg and so far the only RAM I've been able to locate is a 1GB stick of Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 (PC2 6400). At $40 for one stick that's a little too much.

A lot of people recommend the G.SKILL brand, but then G.SKILL is not on Gigabyte's memory spec sheet. There has to be more choices for RAM than the one I found. It can't be this ridiculously complicated. I hate to just "buy some RAM", wait to get it, put it in, doesn't work, send it back, pick another..........ugh. It's got to be easier than that.

Still searching Google looking for other RAM that will work. Your input would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm running RAM in a Gigabyte DS3L that isn't on the compatibility list.

Get RAM that's rated to run at 1.8V and you shouldn't have any trouble at all. That G.Skill should work fine.

afaik he's using that HP ram from hot deals forum, it is $3 or free after rebate for 1gb stick. It is 1.8V standard.
