Hi everyone,
I recently got a problem with my PC.
When I switch it on, I get the following message:
" Trend ChipAwayVirus (R) On Guard
CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded. Warning! A new CPU installed. Press <Del> key to enter BIOS SETUP to set CPU speed.
Press F1 to continue, DEL to enter SETUP ".
Also, the date and time on the PC is never right, it always reverts to 1998.
I don't know why I am getting this message, I have not installed a new CPU. I run an Antivirus software which shows that my PC is virus free. However, I entered the BIOS and set the cpu speed but next time I rebooted the message appeared again.
Could it be the battery in the PC to save the BIOS settings? The reason I say this is because the date and time on the PC always reverts to 1998.
Many thanks for any help.
