Please help with this error!

I have done a clean install of win98se, am using all the latest drivers, have no conflicts whatsoever, do not OC at all but, if I leave the system idle for a couple of minutes or if I am just browsing the system I keep getting an Explorer error. I tried upgrading to winME and now I get BSOD! I formatted again and reinstalled win98se and still get the error listed below. I cant seem to locate any info on what this particular error means.

My system consists of the following:

PROCESSOR: PIII 650E (Not OC'ed)
MOBO: ASUS p3v4x (am using the latest VIA drivers)
VID: ASUS 6800 DDR DLX
MEM: 256meg stick of 133mhz ECC CAS3 memory (I tried disabling ECC in bios, still get error)
SCSI: Adaptec 2940UW2 with 7 18gig HDs connected to an external UW scsi chassis
SOUND: SBlive! Value (LW3, Also just tried the stock drivers)

Any help with this error would be GREATLY appreciated! I wanna play Deus-ex! WAAAAAA!!!

Just a thought but you might try reseating or replacing your memory.
I had a problem very similar to yours and it drove me nuts trying
to find out what it was. I run two sticks of PC133, 128M each and one of them was defective, as soon as I replaced it my system was rock solid again.

Do you have your power management on in your bios?

If you do I would shut it all off.

Heres something weird. I bumped up the core voltage from 1.65 1.7 and all is stable, or more stable I shoud say. Ever since I got this p3 650 I have had one problem after the other. Does that make any sense? Upping the voltage I mean?

When and where did you get the processor?
This sounds like a problem processor makers had in the past. Its the reason why they locked the clock multiplier. If increasing the voltage made it atable it sounds to me like you may have gotten a remarked processor. I have no idea how they would have got around the multiplyer lock tho. Or, maybe your motherboard doesn't actually supply 1.65v at the 1.65 setting. Or, is this motherboard comliant with the copermine chip (as opposed to the older version of the p3).

I pulled this processor from a PC at work. When I put it in my BH6 it comes up as a Pentium III 650e. On my ASUS p3v4x it comes up as the same but no &quot;e&quot; after the 650 like the BH6 does. Weird. My bios is 1005.

Try to run that vid card at AGPx2 not x4. There are well know problems using that MB/VID card. Search the p3v4x forum for users having same problems and some solutions.
