Guys I just upgraded from a Chaintech AV-710 to an X-Fi Extreme Music. Before installing the X-Fi, I went into add/remove programs, and I couldn't find my current Envy Audio Deck driver for my Chaintech. I couldn't find a way to uninstall it.

I ended up just deleting the folder and getting rid of the registry entries for it. I then installed the X-Fi and its drivers with no problem. But I still don't think the Chaintech is fully uninstalled. In control panel it still has the Envy Audio Deck logo, and I can't get rid of it for the life of me.

Is there any way to get rid of that icon in control panel and is there a way or a program to make sure all the drivers are gone from my Chaintech? I have Driver Cleaner 3, but it seems to only deal with Creative, ATi and Nvidia for the most part. There are other options in there, but which sound category does the Chaintech AV-710 fall under? Or is there a different technique or program to get rid of the driver? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

The Control Panel icon can be removed by removing the associated *.cpl file from Windows\system32 (check properties of likely file name(s) before moving and refreshing CP to make sure). You may want to try a registry cleaner like jv16's old free RegCleaner (google for teh win). If the X-Fi was not already installed and working fine I would have recommended re-installing the Envy first only to re-create the uninstaller or perhaps expanding the software pack and seeing if that is possible (which you may still try).
