3.23 is flashed the same way .

Keep in mind though it doesnt have the same interface.
So you gonna need console connection to change settings and stuff.

Vrangel, are you saying that if I flash to 3.23, i can't change settings through telnet to 192.168.0.1 to change settings? Thanks.

You can use telnet. Address is different though.
Zyxel firmware will change it to 192.168.1.1
so you need to run winipcfg and release/renew each system.

The origin of 'drag and drop' method ?
I came up with it myself one day. Tested on my own router first.
The basis of it is native support for CuteFTP in Zyxel/Netgear routers.

Why did I bother? See, people who grew up in Windows environment
feel like deer caught in headlights when confronted with command line interface.
So I figured what are they comfortable with? Loggin in,renaming files ,
dragging and dropping files... all so familiar. ;)

Anywayz, people use it , no screw ups reported so far.

What the hell is going on here. Some people say they have no problems with AOL instant msgr file transfers and their RT314, but I've tried everything under the sun and NOTHING WORKS. I upgraded to the 3.23 M.00 firmware from zyxel and nothing changed. I am also configured to allow ALL ports to forward to my computer in menu 15. Nothing. I'm starting to think this router is a big P.O.S. considering so many people are seeing different behavior for things like this.

Does anyone have any other suggestions to get AOL file transfers working?

Thanks,
Andy

The 3.23 is pretty good. It works nice! :) And that's my testimony, I'm sticking with it! :)
Errr, it works the best so far. :)

Guys I got a question for ya :)

A couple weeks ago I changed some tcpip filter settings, and now I'm TOTALLY locked out of the router. I'm just waiitng for the router to come in.
As I understand, I go into hyperterminal, and flash a different config file and that's it?

Man I hate it when that happens! I leave the serial cable hooked up to the router all the time and use PC Anywhere to get to the machine connected to the router when that happens.

You can always get into the router via the manager port. Just remember to adjust your console speed accordingly. Default is 9600.

Cheers!
