I currently have a Abit Av8 with Athlon 64 3000+, I bought 1 stick of PNY Optima 512 mb ram (3200 DDR 400). I want to run dual channel, Do I have to buy another identical PNY Optima 512 stick to do it? Or can I buy a Kingston Value RAM 512mb 3200 ddr. I found the kingston on sale but dont' want to buy it if I can run dual channel with it. Thanks for your help.
 
What if I buy a stick of PNY 512 2700 DDR, will that stop me from running dual-channel and slow my overall speed down?
 
It is possible that it might work, but it's definatly best to use an identical stick for dual channel, otherwise there are no gurantees it can work.
