I will not waste your time and get to the point. My qx9650 just won't get stable at 4.0ghz

Here is what i have

750i ftw evga motherboard

1gb xms2 corsair pc6400

qx9650 running at 4.0 at 9 multiplier 444 MHz bus 1777 fsb

cpu-z says 1.432 V core voltage but its about 1.4500 in bios

cpu fsb 1.30V

nforce 1.50V

gtlvref lane 0,1,3,4 all have +0.00mv

i have proper cooling as my core temp displays 25-32 C (thermalright with 3 noctua fans)

Please any help is appreciated

Everytime i try to go with the 10 multiplier it doesn't even overclock.....the computer automatically sets my fsb to 1066 so i get 2.66ghz instead of 1600 which would give me 4.0ghz. I don't know why but it does that.

you have to manually select your strap, divider, ratio, etc... I suggest you read up on your 750's bios. and check out our forum's overclocking guide which is stickied at the top of the page.

set mem to unlinked.

disable spread spectrum on everything.

set multi @ 11.

Maybe your board/cpu has a nasty bubble.

I tried one more time to go with multi 10 and it still didn't work. So i downed the fsb to 1560 but it still didn't work (same result 2.66ghz) Then i just lowered it to 1550 and it booted up fine to 3.8ghz. I am going to run some stability tests now and leave it overnight. thanks jaredpace And aigomoria you guys are great. you think my vcore is too high? its 1.4500 in my bios and 1.432 in my cpu-z but i get relatively low temps 25-32C idle and 54-57 100% load. Is this ok?
