Hi!

I have ASUS A7V and Duron 600..
was running fine overclocked to 850 for few hours, but when I popped in DVD, the system crashed during watching the movie..
When I tried reboot the system hangs after detecting my harddrives and dvd drive.
When I reset after system hung, it goes right into the BIOS and it says that system hung because of improper DRAM:BUS Frequency ratio.. whatever that is...
What do I do??? I need my computer for assignments!!!!
Can anyone help me? .. thanks..

Try seeing if it works at a lower speed. It might be that it wasn't stable to begin with. Also, it could be heat too.

If you need it for assignments, switch it back to 600. Should work then. In case of emergencies, of course.

Response from identical post from the other forum had someone suggesting that you set the SDRAM to 100MHz, in case your RAM cannot run at 133. Going along with that, if memory is the issue, you can try setting it to PC100 333 (the three settings below the SDRAM speed setting, set them all to 3). That would run your RAM slow, so it shoudl work even if you have low quality RAM.

My recommendation is to set the Performance in BIOS to Normal instead of optimal. For some reason the optimal setting seems to casue frequent lockups....
