I bought a new motherboard and wanted to test the cpu before installing everything. I hooked up the 300w power supply installed a duron 750mhz cpu and a 256mb stick of kingston pc2100 memoryand a geforce2 gts video card. nothing else-no cd-rom or hard drive or mouse or keyboard. I turned on the computer. It booted but the monitor took a few extra seconds to come up so I missed the intail boot screen. It booted until after checking for the ide drives and stopped. said push F1 to continue. OK no problem. I turned off computer-dince no keyboard. Now when I turn it on it will not post at all, no beeps-nothing. I tried reseting bios, unplug power supply-no luck. Now what?

MB is MSI KT333 Ultra ms-6380e v1.0

Thanks

Make sure the board has a good ground (achieved through the screws that attach it to the case), and maybe see if another power supply gives better results.

Actually its the good brass stand off's that achieve this.

Did you just unplug it from the back? Try unplugging it from the mobo for about :30 seconds and then plugging it back in.

try removing the battery for 10 minutes with the power cord disconnected
