OK, so I got a new replacement drive for my failing 160gb maxtor. They sent me the same exact model as a replacement. What I am trying to do is copy all the important data from the failing drive onto the new one. Unfortunately, every HD copy utility can only see a 8.4gb partition that comes up as unknown type with weird symbols next to it. In reality, it has 2 60gb partitions and one 40gb partition. These don't show up at all. Is there any way to get this drive to copy? The data on it is crucial, and I have to get it off somehow. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Does windows still see the original HD content ?

Just do a transfer onto the new drive of wanted files, if so

Funny, when I saw this thread, I thought "High Definition."

The proper abbreviation for a Hard Disk Drive is HDD.

OK fixed the title. Yeah, I can copy the files in windows, but that kind of screws things up...as some 2k3 ad files are on there...
