Hi,

So I've been out of the computer hardware/games scene for a long time, and I don't know which company stands where right now, or what products have the best performance for the money. So, I'm hoping you guys can help me build a solid computer on a budget.

I'm not building this computer to play games, so I don't need the latest and greatest video card, but I will be using it with a 37" monitor. Mainly I will be using this computer for sound editing and recording, and day to day things. I'm really hoping to keep this right around $600, which includes case, psu, motherboard, video card, CPU, RAM, hard drive and an all-in-one optical drive. I don't need speakers or another monitor, but I would like a nice wireless keyboard and mouse combo.

Thanks for all your help guys!

£300 to power 37? + sound editing is pretty stretched.

I?d say a heavily discounted ready-made is your best option like Dell E520 + something like 7900/x1950 (GS, GT or Pro ? whatever you can get within your budget) + at least Audigy 2 soundcard + additional memory if budget allows (if you do not oc).

If you go for oc (even with AMD) i cannot see how you can fit a decent graphics/sound/enough memory unless you already have os. But i think UK prices, so may be wrong.
