Please help with cardbus adapter problem

when i insert the buslink 2.0 cardbus card in the pcmcia slot the laptop (with xp sp1) freeze..i did test the card to another laptop that contains xp sp2 and it still have the freezing problem..anybody know how to fix this problem..thanks
