Please help - what area code is this phone number from?

My mom was driving behind an 18 wheeler today, when a giant piece of ice (at least 4 feet wide she said) slid off the top of the trailer and smashed onto her windshield. The truck was so dirty she couldn't get a license plate number, the only thing she got was the phone number (that had no area code). She was very shaken up since her windshield got bashed in, so she understandably couldn't get every little bit of contact info. Anyways, the number is 657-7225 - and since this was a trucking co. number, I'm sure it could be from anywhere in the nation. Does this number sound local to anyone? She wants to at least find out what company the truck belonged to....

I don't believe prefixes are Area Code specific. I've known people with 895 prefix in at least four different Area Codes.

Your best bet would be to call National information and have them do a search for a trucking company with that prefix in any area code.

Call the highway dept and Department of Transportation in the state where this happened

Call the Public Utility Commisioners office too.

dahunan, I don't think it'll particularly go by my state, only because it was on a shipping truck, which frequently travels from state to state, you know? But I'll look through the list and see if I find any trucking companies 🙂
