This was posted in networking, but no one has replied:

I have a 1.5 mbit cable connection with 128 kbit upload. I cannot play starcraft! It lags like a mofo! I have called my internet service provider and they say that everything looks good on their end. (I am sure I am the lagger and it is not the others, as all games appear FULL RED LAG to me)

Any Peer to Peer based battle.net game does not work, but any server based game does (Diablo II closed for instance).

Another roomate cannot log into Asheron's call! Basically my ISP is not helping at all and we have had this problem ever since we got a cable modem over half a month ago. We each have our own IP and our provider is MediaCom which took over cable in Iowa from AT&T. I do know they use AT&T for their backbone and their homepage is www.mymediacomonline.com.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Thanks.

Oh, and generally pings are very good, downloads go very fast, and server based games play very will with good pings. It just doesn't make any sense!

What is your upload speed supposed to be? I have Comcast and theirs is crappy. Great on the DL though. For example on KaZaA I get great downloads but people can only get about 3 to 10 kbps on uploads off me.

If you have bad upload speeds, you games will not run well, if at all.
