Hi all;

I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired of Comcast: Bad Programming and High prices. $196. per month Internet and Cable. Internet is actually pretty slow for what I pay--$86. per month!

I really want to switch to U-verse:

* want 450u package w/dvr and hdtv 3 sets
* 12 mbps internet(all that's available for my location) Can I game on this?

What do I need to know about U-Verse-Internet and TV/HDTV programming??

Thank you in advance!

I have U-verse and have no complaints...well, since their last software upgrade, the response navigating through the UI is a bit slow. But other than that, no complaints.

I had U-Verse for like 3 months. Couldn't switch back to Comcast fast enough. The HD quality was far worse, the internet slower, and I hated how slow the box was.

Of note - they are not routing through "fastaccess" at least not in south FL - I get 42ms pings to a dedicated host on a tier1 datacenter on AT&T "business dsl" - 28ms on comcast, 9ms from my office, and 58ms from home (uverse 24mbit/3mbit). Some people have noted that the lack of fastaccess is unnoticeable. I've noted the same. SUpposedly with plain DSL they can skip some routing or something that they can't do with Uverse. Or maybe Uverse adds another layer or something. Whatever its not an issue .

2400k downloads all day - It isn't oversold or overshared at least not on my node). The 3mbits up is really 3mbits up. Its wicked fast, and short of an install anomaly (bad phone lines) the service has been 100% uptime. Now it'll go down of course (lol).

Had Averse for almost 2 years in Michigan. I liked it alot then but others have kind of caught up. If HD quality is of primary importance u will be disappointed.

Best I have ever had is DirecTV.

I want to ditch Comcast so badly i'm "almost" ready to cut my nose off to spite my face!!

I guess I'll give uverse atry w/o cancelling my Comcast.

Thanks for all the Replies. I'll let you know how it goes!

ETA: Installation--uverse 450 & max internet scheduled for Dec 5 install...
