please help, sound card!

all i hear when i turn on my computer is static. i have a 680i motherboard, x-fi extreme music, and logitech ze300 5.1 speakers. its really annoying and im about to throw my soundcard out my window.
i have to restart my comp every time to fix the problem but i dont want to have to do that everytime. i have the latest drivers and i have reinstalled my soundcard but it still keeps happening!

did u try to uninstall drivers completely remove n then reseat the sound card?

well i unistalled but i never resat the card. ill try that 2marrow.

and im using windows xp pro.

Keep moving the sound card to every pci slot and see if it does it again.

well i only have 1 other pci slot and id rather not put it there because i have an 8800GTS and the 8800 wont have as much room to breath.

and AnotherGuy can u be more specific? sorry.
do u suggest i reseat right after i uninstall? then after that install the drivers?
i have reseated after i installed.
