Ok, I really am in need of some help. My setup:

Windows XP
Sb Live 5.1
Cambridge Soundworks Megaworks 510d

Ok, here's the situation. After downloading the new sb drivers, my 5.1 works great. I have to change my setting to 5.1 in audiohq and my DVDs sound great. The problem is with music and games (and even other windows apps). Staying in 5.1 mode, when I play music or games, the same stereo signal is outputted to 4 speakers (both fronts and both rears) and it creates a HORRIBLE echo effect which makes the whole system sound tinny and crappy overall. So I switch to 2 speaker mode in audiohq. No problem right? Not really. While the stereo signal only goes to the two front speakers like it's supposed to (and my system no longer sounds tinny and there no longer is an echo so it sounds much better), it does NOT recognize the sub. A consequence of this is bass that is not as loud or full when compared to 5.1 mode. I can tell because when I switch to 5.1 mode while listening to music, the bass sounds a lot better but of course there's a horrible echo like I mentioned.

Why is this the case? Why is there a "2 speaker" mode in audiohq as opposed to a 2.1 mode so the sub can be recognized. This can't be normal. Is there some sort of software I can download that will give me the 2.1 option? I've tried every setting; nothing seems to change this.

Am I really supposed to pick between 1) no echo with not good bass and 2) horrible echo with good bass when playing music and games? This doesn't sound right to me especially since I had no problem whatsoever with my old Cambridge soundworks dtt2500's. Please help and sorry for the long post.

Try switching your front and rear leads if you're not using the coaxial cable. Two speakers working without the sub shouldn't have anything to do with the drivers. The sub gets it's signal from rear channel lead on my Live! and Cambridge SoundWorks with the black plug. If it's Coax, I'm totally lost.
