Please help me if you can... Im so fed up right now with this system. I have just built a system... kt7-raid, 1ghz tbird, 256 pc-133 ram.

I put it together and hook it up. System comes up, I jump into CMOS to set up my harddrives and everything like that. After I make the necesary changes, I save and exit... screen goes blank... (ive just lost my video signal)... reboot. nothing.
reboot again... nothing. ugh... did I overheat? Open up the case, take off the HSF, take out the CPU, looks pristine besides the thermal goop. Put it back in, hook up the HSF, powerback up... Ive got video again... WTF? Hard drives arnt recognized for some reason even though i just auto-detected in CMOS before the video went out...Reboot to get back into CMOS, thats all good. Im in CMOS, check to see that the HDDs are still auto-detected, they are... this time, exit w/o save... video goes blank...lost the signal again.

I am going insane... please please help meee...
is it my mother board? ram? (post checked the ram fine) CPU im pretty sure is fine

Check your screws holding down the motherboard and possibly change them out.

One possibility.

What kind of powersupply are you using?

I have the same issue. Wanna know a fix I found? When you lose video signal, unplug the power cord (do NOT power down first, leave the system powered up) from the box for about 3-5 secs. Then plug back in and power up. This has worked well for both my KT7 systems. I am thinking this is an Abit issue, happens on my two systems (one with Athlon-approved pwer, other does not).

I dont think I'll be buying Abit again anytime soon.

Alright, I'll try flashing the motherboard... Im using a 300w powersupply... one quick question again though, when i mounted the motherboard, it came with little brownish-red washers that were made from plastic... I didnt use them because the motherboard manual didnt show any use of them when mounting. do i need to use these? and if so, where? (I've got a Tornado 1000 case from 3dcool.com)

Oh yeah, I cant seem to get to the abit FTP or http for the latest bios, anyone got a little link for a mirror that I can use? 🙂

Ugh, it didnt? 🙁 alright.... anyone else got some advice on this? maybe i should return the board for another? or should i try thowing the plastic washers in there for the mounting screws?
im not too darn happy 🙁

Try disabling the 'quick boot up' option in the BIOS - this has solved this problem for many others ... 😎
