I finally got my own place, and just got cable installed. (50MBps yay!)

Not its time to take care of the router and wiring. It's a small 1 bedroom New York apartment, but its got plenty of walls the signal will need to pass through and I need at least descent if not good coverage for the whole appt.

I am looking at this router http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833320168 because it's cheap, got good reviews, and it's faster than 54Mbps. (yes I know I wont get anywhere near 300 Mbps) but I can live with that.

Is there any reason why I SHOULDN'T get it? Any better options in same price range?

There's also this router http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166072 but I'm not sure if I can trust Rosewill brand for a router.

Also I will run cat 5e from where the modem is (in the living room) into the bedroom. I was lucky to pick up a huge roll of cat 5e plenum grade cable our network guys threw out, but it has no connectors. I feel comfortable about using a crimping tool to attach these myself (plenty of guides on the net) but I don't know what kind of crimping tool I should get. They come in different sizes! Can someone give me a link to a descent, cheap crimping tool I need for the task?

Thanks very much.

Assuming this is not going in the walls, you understand it's relatively temporary, first search on Amazon for "cat 5 crimper" has a Trendnet model with good reviews. Make sure you get the right kind of connector for the cable (stranded vs solid). Leave yourself a bit of slack behind the furniture in case you need to redo an end later.
