hi

im using this D-Link DI-524 wireless router. After i followed all the steps in the manual, it worked for a lil while. Every so often like every3 mins, the router just turned off and on again. causing the internet connection to stop. AFter i press the reset on the bak of the router and followed the steps AGAIN, i can't connect to internet. XP just tells me that there is no or limited connection.

plz help thx

If your Wireless Router actually switches Off.

You should call support and RMA the unit.

I've never had a D-Link router, but probably never will. There's a reason... Let's just say I used to work retail and we tended to get a lot of "defective" D-Link routers.

I don't think returns have anything to do with the company, rather people who areTOO LAZY to put the time into working out the kinks. Lack of proper documentation also can lead people returns sooner rather than later.

The best company support in my book is SMC, but they are more expensive. You pay what you get for.

YOUR PROBLEM:
I don't own a DLINK, but if you do a HARD RESET on the back, you need to configure it. Make sure all the right elements are inputed (especially SSID and channel for two wireless components). In these type of softwares, they ask you to soft reset (on/off) for the changes to take effect. Then, just boot up your computer..........If you're still having issues, call Tech Support before giving up too easily.
